Cumbernauld College's graduating students received their awards in front of family, friends, staff and special guests during the glittering ceremony, which took place at St Mungo’s Church, Cumbernauld.
Almost three hundred students from the college’s PDA, HNC, HND courses and BA and BSc (degrees offered through University of the West of Scotland) received awards on the night.
Guest speaker at the event was Paul McKelvie OBE, who sits on the board of Skills Development Scotland - the public body which oversees skills and training in Scotland.
Seven special achievement awards were also presented to students from the college’s three faculties. Lorna McAdams, a student in the Engineering, Computing and Creative Industries faculty won the full-time learner award while Peter McDade from the same department received the lifelong learner accolade.
In the Care and Education department Andrew McCartney was given the full-time learner award while Ana-Luisa Rennox received the lifelong learner prize.
From the Service Industries faculty, Yasmin Kelly was presented with the full-time learner award and Carol Ann Campbell the lifelong learner prize. Finally, Lorraine McQueen, who has completed an HNC in Hairdressing, was crowned SQA Local College Award Winner.
Martin McGuire, Principal of Cumbernauld College, said: “The annual awards ceremony is an important celebration in Cumbernauld College’s calendar. All graduating students have worked very hard throughout the year and are a credit to the college.”
