Art Exhibition Showcases Student Work

A fascinating exhibition of work by Cumbernauld College's creative students is set to go on public display next week.

Taking place from Monday, June 3 to Friday, June 7, the annual Art and Design Exhibition will be held in the College Street of the Cumbernauld campus, as well as the chill out area at the East Dunbartonshire campus.

Both locations will be completely transformed to display the work of 56 talented students from NC Art and Design, Illustration for Graphic Novels and Tattooing, and Arts Club courses.

Steven Hart, lecturer at Cumbernauld College, said, "The exhibition gives the public a chance to see what the students have been working on during the past year.

"There will be an array of different work on show including drawings, paintings, illustrations, printmaking, fashion designs, graphic and advertising designs along with three dimensional structures.

"Not only is everyone welcome to attend the exhibition, but there will also be the opportunity to purchase these exclusive pieces of work from the artists.

"You never know, you could take home a piece of work by the next Andy Warhol or Frank Quitely!

"This is an event that staff and students always look forward to and it’s going to be another great exhibition."

The exhibition will feature some terrific pieces of art from students including Rachel Connal (thumbnail) and Kayleigh Gray (right).

If you want to come along, it is open Monday, June 3 to Friday, June 4, from 9am to 4pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
